New Lansdowne

The New Lansdowne is, without a doubt, the pride of every Lindelian shipwright. This comparatively enormous Carrack has three masts; the fore and mainmast are square-rigged, with a lateen sail on the mizzenmast. The ship needs at least nine crewmen to operate, but can comfortably carry 40 passengers and 80 tons of cargo. The captain’s quarters, mess, and galley are located in a raised aftcastle, and a small forecastle houses a map room with multiple portholes and a large glass window in the ceiling for use in astral navigation. Crew quarters and easily accessible storage are found in the lower deck, just above the main hold.

Grand Duke Milliken has financed the construction and supply of the New Lansdowne at great expense. In addition to a crew of 12 experienced sailors, including Captain Vern Walden and a half-Elven navigator named Calathes Norwood, the hold has been filled with the following supplies:

5 lbs of soap
1 ton of fresh fruit
2 tons of hardtack bread
3 tons of “portable soup” (a thick paste concocted by boiling down beef, eggs, and vegetables, to be used if no other food is available)
1 ton of salt
4 Fishing poles with bait, hooks, and lines
Writing paper, ink
Multiple sets of clothing
Spare linen, cloth, and thread
20 blankets
